Split a/b -- R1

The NA26/GNT3 committee enclosed αὐτῷ within square brackets because the varying position of the pronoun could be due to its absence from the initial text.[1] The singular omission in 03, however, cannot call into question the unanimous support for αὐτῷ, especially since 03 is known for shortening the text by small words that are not essential for the meaning of a phrase. Metzger reports the committee’s view that the pronoun was probably first inserted after εἶπεν because the earliest manuscript, P45, has it in this position. The TFDs for a and b (with IR=?) do not support this view.
