The nominativus pendens in a is acceptable as initial reading because of its difficulty, although there is a lack of coherence with the a-attestation. Note, however, that there is a relatively wide range of witnesses supporting c with A as their closest potential ancestor, and that the witnesses of b also support the nominative.
