Welcome to the...

New Testament Virtual Manuscript Room

(NT.VMR 2.0)

This site is devoted to the study of Greek New Testament manuscripts. On the page "Manuscript Workspace" we provide tools for performing searches on manuscript metadata and manuscript images. On the pages "Transcribing" and "Indexing" users are able to generate additional metadata to selected images.

While our tools are fully functional for testing, they provide additional features and save options once a user has created an account and is logged in on the site. That way users can save transcribed pages to their personal account and create personalized annotations to images.

Indexing Quick Features

General

Calling all Indexers!  On the Indexing panel, under the "> more..." section for each page, you will now find working checkboxes for quickly adding page features.

There are 3 features intended specifically for your indexing work:

  • "NoIdx" - This feature will mark a page as having no indexable material (No New Testament Content) and will designate the page as being finished with regard to indexing.  This will finally let you get to 100% complete on your assignments by tagging pages having No Biblical Content with this feature.
  • "Help" - This feature will let you mark a page as needing review.  Please post a forum message about your questions using the "Discuss" button in the indexing tool, but this will allow anyone to search for all indexing work which needs to be reviewed.
  • "Notes" - While not a checkbox, this control also adds a feature to the page with your notes while indexing.  Feel free to express yourself!

In addition to the feature section finally working, there is a new button at the top of the indexing tool which can be used to hide all pages which have data in the Biblical Content field.  This might be useful, when working with large documents, to show only your unfinished work, or to see which pages might need the "NoIdx" feature when you go back and update your past work!

Hope this is useful!  Thank you for all of your contributions!
